Dripping Springs calls itself the Wedding Capital of Texas, and the venue map explains the traffic: dozens of ranch and barn venues sit on RR 12 toward Wimberley, along Fitzhugh Road north of town, and out Hamilton Pool Road. Most guests stay in Austin, so the shuttle day starts downtown or in the Domain hotel cluster, runs MoPac south to US-290 west through the Oak Hill Y, and reaches the venue in 40 to 55 minutes depending on how far out the property sits. Dripping Springs party bus questions

What Dripping Springs groups ask us before a night out or a day trip.

Fitzhugh Road itself is fine for a coach, but the last quarter mile into many venues is gravel with a tight turnaround, and a 45-foot coach cannot always make it. We ask every venue about bus access before we quote, and we often recommend two 30-passenger shuttle buses instead of one coach for exactly that reason. The venue coordinator usually knows which vehicles have worked before.
Load at 3:30 PM and depart by 3:45. US-290 west on a Saturday afternoon is 40 to 55 minutes to most venues, and guests like to be seated 20 minutes early. If the hotel block is at The Domain, add 15 minutes for MoPac. Wedding groups in our booking data plan a median of 103 days out, which leaves plenty of room to fine-tune the shuttle times with your planner.
Treaty Oak, Deep Eddy, and Desert Door all have lots that accommodate a bus, and the driver holds there for the length of your tasting. Jester King is the tightest on a busy weekend, so we drop at the entrance and stage along the drive. Several tasting rooms ask that groups of 8 or more reserve a slot, which we will remind you about when we work out the plan.
Not always. Between Bee Cave and Hamilton Pool the signal drops in the canyon stretches, and the preserve parking area is patchy. We set the pickup time and the exact spot before you go in, and the driver stays with the vehicle. If your reservation window changes, tell the driver before you walk down the trail, not after, because a text from the pool may not go through.
Purchases ride in the cooler or storage area. Whether open containers are permitted on board depends on the vehicle and the trip, and it is spelled out in the price we send rather than decided at the curb. Most distillery groups keep the bottles sealed for the ride and enjoy the pours they already had at the tasting rooms, which keeps everyone comfortable for the hour on US-290.
Tasting rooms close at 5 or 6 PM, and the wedding venues wrap between 10 PM and midnight. For a distillery day, a 6 PM departure gets you into Austin by 7 for dinner. For a wedding, the final shuttle loop is usually set for 15 minutes after the send-off. US-290 eastbound is quiet after 9 PM, so a midnight departure has you downtown by 12:45 AM.
Yes, with one vehicle if the timing is sequential and two if it is not. A common version is a 9 AM Hamilton Pool reservation for the swimmers, a pickup at noon, and a full-group tasting run down Fitzhugh Road from 1 PM. If some people want to skip the pool entirely, a second sprinter picking them up in Austin at noon is usually simpler than making the swimmers wait.
The Y at Oak Hill has been rebuilt over the past several years, and lane shifts still come and go. Our drivers run it several times a week and know the current pattern, so the quote already assumes a few extra minutes there. On a Saturday morning it is rarely more than a 5-minute delay; Friday at 5 PM is when it can add 20.
