Getting to and from Wimberley without the stress

Wimberley is 40 miles southwest of downtown Austin, and there is no fast road. The primary route is RR 12 north through the hills to Dripping Springs, then US-290 east into Austin; it takes 50 to 60 minutes on a Saturday evening, with the slow stretch on US-290 between Nutty Brown Road and the Y at Oak Hill. The other route, RR 12 south to San Marcos and I-35 north, is longer in miles but sometimes faster when Oak Hill is backed up. The driver picks on the day, and either way plan on an hour.

Yes, at the gate. Both parks have small lots and require summer reservations, which you make directly with the park. The bus drops the group at the entrance and waits on the road or a nearby lot. It depends on the driveway. Venues on RR 12 and FM 2325 with a paved entrance handle a 30-passenger shuttle bus. A venue on a gravel county road with a low-water crossing may limit us to a sprinter or a 20-passenger bus. If you mention the venue name, we will check the largest vehicle that can turn around there before you commit.
About an hour on RR 12 to US-290, and a bit more if the driver takes the San Marcos and I-35 route around a closure. Guest shuttles usually run two departures, one at 10:30 pm and one at the send-off, so the early group is home by 11:45 and the late group after 1:00 am. A Dripping Springs hotel block cuts the ride to 25 minutes.
