Groups over thirty are only about 7% of what we see in our booking data, but when they show up, they tend to be the big ones: a milestone birthday where nobody could be left off, a wedding after-party, a company that decided the whole floor was going. The 34 is the first size above the near-30 group and the last one before the cabin starts to feel like a room. It keeps a crowd that size on one bus instead of splitting pickup times across two smaller ones, which for a Saturday night on Rainey is the whole game.
A night on this bus goes best with a shape to it. A strong Saturday looks like a pickup at a rental house off South Lamar, dinner on South Congress, a couple of hours downtown with the bus parked nearby as home base, and one late ride home. With more than thirty people, every load and unload takes a few minutes, so three good stops beat a crawl through six bars two blocks apart. Wedding after-parties work the same way: one lift from the venue in Dripping Springs to a Rainey Street bar, one ride back to the hotel.
Twenty-eight to thirty-two is the comfortable range, with open floor in the middle and the bar reachable. At thirty-four the bus is full; the ride still works, but it becomes a seated one. A group that wants standing room for the whole trip, is bringing balloons and a cooler or two, or expects late RSVPs to push past thirty-four tends to be happier on the 36 or the 40 even when the count technically fits here. Saturdays carry about 55% of Austin requests, so the large buses on a spring Saturday are the ones to ask about early.

Choose the 32 when the list is locked under thirty. Choose the 36 when you are already at thirty-three or the route is six hours or more. The average Austin group in our inquiries is twenty-four passengers, so anything in the mid-thirties is a genuinely large booking, and the bus with two spare seats is always the more comfortable one.
