Groups use it for a brewery afternoon that ends on Rainey, a hotel-to-venue run for a wedding in Dripping Springs, a bachelor weekend that goes from a Lake Travis marina into town, or a concert night at the Moody Center. With forty people, every unplanned detour costs real time, and the driver's knowledge of where a bus this size can pull in is worth a lot.
Thirty-four to thirty-eight is the comfortable range, with open floor and a reachable bar. At forty the group rides seated, belongings stay light, and nobody should expect a dance floor. If the list is at forty before the invitations close, or the night includes decorations, coolers, and bags for the lake house, the 45 keeps some air in the cabin. If the trip is long-distance with luggage and everyone wants a real seat, that is the point where a 48-passenger coach with a restroom starts to make more sense than any party bus.

The 40 Passenger Party Bus is flanked by the 38 Passenger Party Bus and the 45 Passenger Party Bus, and it is the first size where venue access starts deciding things. Choose the 40 over the 38 when the count is thirty-six to thirty-eight and still moving, or when the plan includes coolers, gowns, or a nine-hour wedding day. Choose it over the 45 when you are at forty or fewer and the venue or hotel curb is tight, since the 45 is longer and a few Hill Country gates and downtown corners rule it out. If forty is your confirmed number and there are bags or a long route, the 45 is the safer cabin.
